Privacy Policy

Cinovo is designed to help you discover and keep track of films and television shows. This policy explains the information the app handles and the choices available to you.

Information stored on your device

Your watchlist, viewing status, watched dates, preferences, and the number of Cinovo AI searches you have used are stored locally on your device. Cinovo does not operate its own account system or collect this information on its own servers.

Services you may choose to use

Cinovo retrieves film and television metadata, artwork, and availability information from third-party content providers, including TMDB. Those requests may be subject to the provider’s privacy practices.

If you choose to connect a Trakt account, Cinovo uses Trakt’s authorization process to access the watchlist and history you choose to sync. The authorization token is stored securely in your device’s Keychain. You can disconnect Trakt from within the app at any time.

If you use Cinovo AI, the prompt you choose to submit is sent to OpenRouter, which provides the AI response used for your suggestion. Do not include sensitive personal information in an AI prompt.

Purchases

Cinovo Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Cinovo does not receive or store your payment card details. Apple’s privacy policy governs information it processes for purchases and subscriptions.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use third-party advertising or advertising identifiers.
  • We do not track you across apps or websites for advertising.
  • We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone data.

Data retention and your choices

Local Cinovo data remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app. You may manage or revoke a connected Trakt account through the app and through Trakt. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.

Children

Cinovo is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or applicable law changes. The latest version will always appear on this page, with its revision date.

Cinovo uses content metadata supplied by third parties. TMDB, Trakt, and OpenRouter are independent services with their own terms and privacy policies.
